4 Different Types of C7 Corvettes

Starting back in 1953, Chevrolet has released many models and variants of Corvettes. Every year, the models have become faster and more powerful than ever before.

Although new Corvette models are designed and manufactured every year, there are a few established Corvette types that have come on the market in the past few years: the Stingray, the Grand Sport, the Z06, and the ZR1.

Since every era of Corvette brings a signature flair to each of these Corvette types, we decided to give you a look at one year when Chevrolet released all four, so you have an even playing field to determine which type might just be your favorite. Let’s dive deep into the 2019 C7 Corvette series to learn more about each of these four unique Corvette types:

Stingray

The Stingray is one of the most popular names in American automotive history. It was part of Chevrolet’s first attempt at professional racing and has now evolved into a classic car model with consistently exceptional performance.

The 2014-2019 C7 Stingray is available in both coupe and convertible styles and comes in ten different exterior colors, from black to elkhart blue metallic. At prices from $55,000-$65,000, it’s also the most economical choice out of the 2019 C7 types of Corvettes, making it one of the more attainable ‘Vette models.

Other C7 Stingray performance specs include:

  • 3,298 pound curb weight
  • 6.2-liter V8 engine
  • 460 HP
  • 0-60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds
  • 1-3LT trim options
  • 7-speed manual transmission

Grand Sport

The Grand Sport has the same engine as the Stingray, but its unique design gives it increased horsepower and quicker pickup speeds. It has a wider body, fender flares, high rear spoiler, and powerful brakes, making it the perfect balance between speed and safety for all levels of drivers.

The 2017-2019 C7 Grand Sport is available in both coupe and convertible styles, and comes in the same ten exterior colors as the Stingray. However, at prices from $65,000-$70,000, buyers will pay more for the extra get up and go.

Z06

The first Z06 was launched back in 2005 and has since proved itself to be Corvette’s leading motorsports car in terms of strong suspension, wide tires, and advanced aerodynamics. It also provides ample cargo space, giving drivers the best of both worlds with SUV storage and track car speed and performance.

The 2015-2019 C7 Z06 is available in both coupe and convertible styles. It also comes in the same ten exterior colors as the Stingray and Grand Sport. The price of one of these “Super-Vettes” comes in around $80,000-$85,000.

The 2019 C7 ZR1 is available in both coupe and convertible styles. It too comes in the same ten exterior colors as the other C7 styles. Price-wise, this supercar costs anywhere from $120,000 to $150,000.

  1. There was no Z06 in 2005. It did not return until 2006. Before that they were made in 2001-2004 as the C5. The original Z was 1963. Also, you should mention the Z51 package. While not a model, it is a great option to the base Stingray.
